Fall Bikerafting

I went for a trip in the Yakima River Canyon yesterday to enjoy some fall bikerafting. I didn’t have enough time for any of the adventure hike-a-bike routes so I opted to ride the highway. It’s pretty tight with no shoulder in several places. I figured there might be less traffic on a weekday than on a weekend. Most drivers were nice and moved over and I tried to be extremely visible with two rear blinky lights. My preference is still the adventure route options, but they require a lot of physical effort and a long day. The river is very enjoyable this time of year, but the water was very low. I was still able to avoid hitting bottom for the most part. I saw a few bald eagles and several other birds. I passed several drift boats that were taking a slower pace to fish all of the good spots along the way. Overall a great day to get outside.

The gps tracks can be found here: https://ridewithgps.com/trips/105277575 https://ridewithgps.com/trips/105277445 A little over 1 hour for the bike ride up to Ringer and then a little over 3.5 hours for the paddle back to the car at MP 8 boat launch.
