Alex grew up an avid distance runner competing in Cross-Country and Track through high school. He also started mountain biking in the early 90's and really enjoyed getting out on trails on a fully rigid MTB. Alex attended Montana State University on a Track scholarship and competed for the Bobcats in indoor and outdoor Track seasons. After college he continued running and regularly competed in the Seattle road running scene. A friend introduced him to Adventure Racing (AR) in 2004 and he was instantly hooked on the sport. He joined up with the AR Team Kitsap and competed for several seasons in the PNW. From there Alex got involved in orienteering and rogaining (navagation events) to challenge himself to improve navigation skills. Recently he’s taken to designing his own adventures often times trying to include the packraft and bike.

Matt has been adventure racing for over 15 years. He recently competed in the 2021 AR World Championships in Spain. Matt is an avid cyclist and paddler and is always up for an adventure. As a strong navigator, he does a superb job of keeping AR teams on track. Matt and Alex first bikerafted the Washington Narrows route in November 2017.
